Ne me touchez pas

“Do not touch me, for I am afraid to feel.” Taken from Doris Lessing’s “The Golden Notebook” (1962), this sentence lies at the heart of Laura Bachman’s approach. It lends its name to a performance that explores the sacred dimension of touch. The young choreographer teams up with Marion Barbeau to present an intimate and universal contemporary dance duo, paying tribute to “moments of fleeting intimacy, shared bodily energies, subtle eroticism.” Both hailing from the Paris Opera, the dancers share the stage with two renowned jazz musicians: Vincent Peirani on accordion and Michele Rabbia on percussion. From comfort to aggression, solidarity to absence, and pleasure, this inaugural creation summons all facets of touch in an exceptional score.
